Lollipop Shoppe - Just colour (1968)
Fred motherfuckin' Cole (Dead Moon) ladies and gentlemen !
http://pnwbands.com/lollipop.html wrote:Led by singer Fred Cole, who had formerly been in the Northwest punk band the Weeds, the Lollipop Shoppe's sole album (from 1968) ranks as one of the better psych-punk LPs, and also as one of the better one-shot rock records of the late '60s. Featuring Cole's choked, bitter phrasing, the group staked out the middle ground between the Seeds (who shared the same manager) and Love, with a bit of fellow L.A. psych-punkers the Music Machine thrown in. If comparisons must be made, they were definitely closer in tone to Love than the Seeds, with a mixture of raunch and reflection in the spirit of Arthur Lee. Cole was one of the few psychedelic performers to make a contribution during the punk era, surfacing in the Portland punk band the Rats in the late '70s.

The Outsiders
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Outsiders_(Dutch_band) wrote:The Outsiders were a Dutch band from Amsterdam. Their period of greatest popularity in the Netherlands was from 1965–67, but they released records until 1969. In recent years their legacy has extended beyond the Netherlands, and the group is today recognized as a distinctive progenitors of the garage rock genre.
http://www.allmusic.com/album/cq-mw0000376254 wrote:Their final LP , C.Q is one of the finer unsung psychedelic records of the late '60s. Heavy echoes of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Hendrix, and psychedelic-era Pretty Things, with adroit shifts from crunching rock and soft, almost folky passages to spacy phase shift bits and just plain dementia. The album has an ominous and creepy, but rocking, ambience that still cuts deep.

The Left Banke
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Left_Banke wrote:The Left Banke is an American baroque pop band that formed in New York City in 1965, disbanded in 1969, and reformed in 2011.[1][2] They are best remembered for their two US hit singles, "Walk Away Renée" and "Pretty Ballerina".[3] The band often utilized what the music press referred to as "baroque" string arrangements, which led to their music being variously termed as "Bach-rock", "baroque rock", or "baroque 'n' roll".[1]

Josefus
http://www.last.fm/music/Josefus wrote:A Texas band who came from the burgeoning Houston scene in the late 60’s. The members came together (in some form or the other) while still in high school. After making a name locally, signed to a record deal and recorded album that was released as a single under the name “Come” in 1969. Later signed to another company and put out ‘Dead Man’ album in 1970. Garnered a large cult following and live dates helped make them a regional success. Along with bands like 13th Floor Elevators, Bubble Puppy, early ZZ Top, etc. Josefus had a hard rock-psych, sort of heavy metal sound. The group recorded another album that was a dissapointment to the band and then disbanded by the end of 1970.
The (original) band was together only one and a half years, but their music has been reissued several times over the years in both bootleg and various authorized versions.
